Foundational Literacy Practicum
Ready to put the science of reading into practice?
This virtual, guided practicum bridges the gap between foundational coursework and real-world classroom application. Under expert supervision, educators refine their instructional delivery, master diagnostic tools like Root Compass, and ensure their teaching is fully evidence-aligned.
Core Practicum Components:
✓ 55 Supervised Lessons: Build mastery by delivering evidence-aligned instruction to a student or small group using a Structured Literacy approach.
✓ Small Cohort Mentorship: 18 hours of collaborative instruction and coaching in a cohort capped at 6 participants.
✓ Direct 1:1 Coaching: 9 hours of individualized coaching across the year to refine your delivery and receive expert feedback.
Path to National Certification
Fully accredited by the International Dyslexia Association (IDA), this practicum serves as the official pathway to become a Certified Structured Literacy Dyslexia Interventionist (SLDI). It is explicitly designed to prepare educators to successfully pass the KPEERI exam and earn their national certification through the Center for Effective Reading Instruction (CERI).
